Friars Roll; Greedy’s For Real

PC’s men’s basketball team, now 10-6, defeated Rutgers University 94-81 Saturday, Jan. 9 at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center.
Sophomore sensation Jamine “Greedy” Peterson had a super game for the Friars , leading the team with 29 points and 20 rebounds.
It was only the 32nd time in school history that a player has posted at least 20 points and 20 rebounds in a game. Peterson becomes only the sixth player in Friar history to accomplish the feat. It also marks only the 13th time in BIG EAST history that a player has eclipsed the mark.
Peterson led the Friars with a first-half double-double, recording 24 points and 11 rebounds.
Trailing throughout the game, the Scarlet Knights came within nine at 77-68 with five minutes to play. The Friars countered with four-straight points to build the lead back to 13 at 81-68 and Rutgers could not get closer than seven for the remainder of the game.
